Go Hybrid!

Problem: Lack of moolah to buy a separate road bike for long distance rides mostly on concrete/asphalt.
Solution: Go Hybrid!


Luckily, we found a few 26x1.25 (and even narrower 1.0) tires at local bike shops. The tire tubes need to be purchased as well. It surely rolls really fast and requires less effort when compared to the typical knobby or smooth 2.0 mtb tires; you will notice the difference right away when you first try it. Tire pressure is at 85-90 psi and we're still happy with its traction on the road.
Now we're ready for the 250 kilometer Manila-Baguio epic ride.

KHINGS Eatery

One of the best "tapsilogan" near our place. Located along Shorthorn Street in Project 8 Quezon City. This is where we usually have our pre and post ride sessions, including caffeine cravings especially in the morning. Definitely bang-for-the-buck and available 24/7.

DirtyBikes-approved! Their second branch had its launching a few months ago at Visayas Avenue too.

Brett visits the PH

8:00AM quickie ride @ Maarat table top (San Mateo, Rizal) right after a McDonald's coffee breakfast.
A sunny sunny day. Not even a drop of rain but still managed to get some dust, dirt, and mud as desperately requested by the Security Architect.
Arrived home at noon time for lunch and headed straight to the corporate world.

Next steps:
The Marzocchi Bomber 66 still got some good plush in it but is already due for repair, I think.
Rear hub needs replacement as the cassette skips the hub splines when pedaled a bit hard.
